- How do I download the Pikyrent app?

- How do I become a Pikyrent user?
You must first register on the app, entering your personal data, your email, your mobile number and, lastly, setting a password.
Once you have sent your contact details, you will receive a verification code by email and one by sms. By entering them in the app, you can complete the registration. If you do not receive the codes, check the spam folder or you can always go back to the registration form and click on “resend sms” or “resend email“.
To complete your registration with the service, you need to enter your driver’s licence details (number, issuing authority and expiration date), upload a front and back photo of your driver’s licence and a selfie holding your driver’s licence, and add a payment method. One of our operators will then verify your data before enabling you to use the service.
- Can I see my travel history?
Of course! In the Profile section within the app you will be able to view all the information about your Pikyrent rentals. The available information includes: start and end time, cost of the trip, km travelled, etc.
- Can I close my Pikyrent account and delete my data?
Unsubscription from the service can be requested from the app by following these steps:

Account data will be managed as per the General Terms and Conditions and in accordance with articles 17 et seq. of the GDPR
The credit on the wallet will not be refunded as stated in the terms and conditions signed in the moment of the registration.
- Can I book a Piky car or a Piky scooter?
Of course! If you can’t start your trip right away, you can book your vehicle for up to 20 minutes at a reduced rate, during which time no one else can rent the particular vehicle you booked. After 20 minutes without you having activated the rental, the vehicle returns to “available” and can be rented or booked by other users. Select one of our vehicles from the map on the Pikyrent app and click on the “Book” button.
PROMOTIONAL PACKAGES
- Are there any active subscriptions or promotions?
Yes, there are promotional packages on an hourly, daily and monthly basis to use the service. you can buy rental and/or parking minutes or buy a series of unlocks at a reduced rate. Hourly promotions can be used indifferently for microcar and scooter rentals. Daily and monthly packages have a specific cost for microcars and one for scooters.
Go to ‘subscriptions and promotions’ in the app menu and find out all the details.
- How does the purchase of promotional packages work?
The purchase of all promotional packages is done directly in the app. All hourly and daily packages are valid for 24 hours from the moment of purchase. After purchasing a package, you still have to make sure that you have the minimum amount in your wallet to start the rental. If this is not the case, the app sends an alert inviting you to top up your wallet with the amount needed to start the rental.
- What services are included in the various packages?The 60-minute package includes:
- 60 minutes that you can use indifferently, whether for parking or rental, on microcars, cargo or scooters
- 3 free unlocks
- unlimited kilometres

- How much do the packages cost?
To use the Pikyrent service you can purchase promotional packages on an hourly and daily basis at convenient rates for both microcar and scooter rentals. Go to ‘subscriptions and promotions’ in the app menu and find out the rates and all the services included.
RATES AND PAYMENTS
- Do I need a security deposit to start my rental?
No, no security deposits are required. To start the rental, you only have to pay the unlock fee and the hourly rate (according to the pay as you go formula). The app will automatically charge €10 when the payment method is entered.
- How much does it cost to rent a Piky car, a Piky Cargo or a Piky scooter?For rent a Piky car, a Piky Cargo or a Piky scooter you pay only for the effective time of use (pay as you go) with a per-minute pricing. Discover our advantageous prices on the app or on the Rates page.
- How can I pay for my rental?
When subscribing to the service you are asked to choose and enter a payment method from:
- Credit / Debit Card (Visa/Mastercard/American Express/UnionPay)
- Prepaid credit card (Visa/Mastercard/American Express/UnionPay)
- Paypal
Through these payment methods you will have to top up your wallet on the app through which you can pay for the rental.
Remember to have a balance of at least €3 for the rental of scooters and €7 for the rental of cars, otherwise you will not be able to start the service. The app will automatically charge €10 for the first top-up.
- What happens if at the end of the rental the wallet credit is not enough to pay for the service?
The App will withdraw the amount due directly from the credit, debit or prepaid card provided during registration. After this withdrawal you will see your wallet balance as negative until the next top up.
- What happens if, in the previous situation, the recorded card does not have sufficient credit either?
Your Pikyrent account will be blocked until you have topped up your wallet. In the event that you have debts due to your last rental, we will subtract that amount from your top up, and we will credit the rest to your wallet. You can then resume renting Pikyrent vehicles in no time!
- If my rented vehicle gets stolen, do I have to pay?
Our vehicles are insured for accidents, damage, fire and theft. If one of these conditions occurs, Pikyrent will activate the respective policies including the relative deductibles to be borne by the user. However, it is recommended during the rental to take care of and handle the vehicles according to the principles of due diligence.
- Why was I charged a penalty?
The penalty is charged as a result of behaviours that do not comply with the General Conditions and Management Regulations (e.g. damage to the vehicle, driving of the vehicle by a person other than the user, failure to report an accident, transport of a number of people beyond the threshold provided by the vehicle registration card, etc.).

- I have residual credit in my wallet. Can I move it to my card?
No, it is not possible to transfer the credit remaining in the wallet back to the credit card provided as per the Terms and Conditions signed by the user at the moment of the subscription
The amount will remain in the availability of the User for the purpose of using the Service and until the account is completely cancelled.
HOW THE VEHICLES WORK
- How do you drive a Piky car?
The driving mode of a Piky car is the same as a vehicle with an automatic gearbox, but without the key. Once the rental is started from the app, the headlights and the panel turn on and the door opens. At this point, you can get into the vehicle. The gear modes are present in the form of keys to the left of the driving seat, at the bottom and are operated by pressing the corresponding key (D = forward; R = reverse; N = neutral) while simultaneously applying slight pressure on the brake. After the gear is engaged, the user can start the microcar by pressing on the acceleration pedal. The Piky cars are equipped with an audible warning, directional arrows and emergency lights. As with all electric vehicles, acceleration from a standstill is very fast and therefore it is better to use the accelerator sparingly.
- How do you drive a ZD Pikycar?
The driving mode of a ZD Pikycar is the same as that of a vehicle with an automatic transmission. Once you start the rental from the app, the headlights and ignition switch on and the central locking system of the vehicle is automatically unlocked. At this point, you can get into the vehicle, opening the door normally. The driving modes are in the form of buttons located in the centre of the console and are operated by pressing the brake pedal and then the corresponding button (D = forward; R= reverse; N = neutral). To switch from D= forward to R= reverse, and vice versa, you must always first switch to N = neutral by pressing the corresponding button. It will therefore not be possible to shift directly from D to R or from R to D. After engaging the gear, the user can start the microcar by pressing the accelerator pedal. The ZD Pikycar is equipped with a horn, directional arrows and hazard lights. As with all electric vehicles, the acceleration from a standstill is very quick, so it is best to use the accelerator cautiously.
- How do I drive a Piky scooter?
The riding mode of the moped is the same as all mopeds, but without the key. Once you start the rental from the app, press the trunk open button in the app to unlock the top box and detach one or both helmets. Then close the top box firmly. The lights and ignition switch on. At this point, you can get into the vehicle.
Super soco moped
To start riding the moped, the green READY sign on the dashboard must be lit. If it is not, make sure that you have removed the kickstand and that the moped is positioned straight. If the READY sign still does not appear, press the button with the symbol . and apply both brakes at the same time. You can then start the moped by turning the accelerator. The scooter’s running mode is unique.
Next moped
To start riding the moped, press the P button near the handlebar. Make sure you have removed the kickstand and that the scooter is positioned straight. Then you can start the moped by turning the accelerator. The running mode of the scooter is unique.
Piky scooters are equipped with a horn, directional arrows and hazard lights. As with all electric vehicles, recovery from a standstill is very quick, so it is best to use the accelerator sparingly. Never accelerate before the rental is started and the scooter is properly powered up.
- Should I recharge the vehicle after the rental?
No. Pikyrent has chosen the free-floating mode to give you the possibility to use the fleet freely and without the constraints of recharging and redelivery. Our operators will recharge the vehicles and make sure they are always ready for use.
- How do I start the microcar rental?
Open the map on the Pikyrent app, search for our vehicles, go to the nearest one and, when you are less than 1 meter away, press the start rental button. If you are already near one of the Pikyrent microcar, you can directly scan the QR Code
If the app tells you that the vehicle is “not available for rental”, then it may have a flat battery, or need maintenance or have already been booked by another user. Find another one and repeat the procedure.
If the vehicle is available, after starting the rental, you will hear the “click” of the microcar’s lock release and you will find the car console on. Once inside the vehicle, you can start driving!
- How do I start the moped rental?
Open the map on the Pikyrent app, search for our vehicles, go to the nearest one and, when you are less than 1 meter away, press the start rental button. If you are already near one of the Pikyrent moped, you can directly scan the QR Code
If the app tells you that the vehicle is “not available for rental”, then it may have a flat battery, or need maintenance or have already been booked by another user. Find another one and repeat the procedure.
If the vehicle is available, after starting the rental, you can use the allocated helmets: click on the “Open trunk” button and you will hear the lock release. Then you can unplug the helmets, close the trunk and, once on the vehicle, you can start driving!
- How do I end my rental?
Park the vehicle, taking care to park it in a permitted area. Once stopped, after making sure that the vehicle is properly locked and that it is equipped with all the accessories supplied, open the app and click on “End rental”.
- I can't finish the rental! Why?
You’re probably experiencing one of these issues:
- You are trying to close the rental outside the service coverage area (Operating Area)
- At your location, there is a poor coverage of the GPS signal. Move a few metres and try again.
- There is not a good internet connection (WiFi or mobile network), that is, you are in an area where the vehicle cannot connect to the Internet. Move a few metres and try again.
If you are using a Piky car, to end the rental you must have activated the handbrake, closed the windows and both doors.
If you are using a Piky scooter, and have used the helmets provided, you must have connected both helmets to the control cables in the top box, you must have closed the top box and you must have placed the vehicle on the stand.

- What do I do if the moped does not start?
Make sure you have performed all the steps to close the rental from the app and the checks on the helmet control cables and the correct closing of the trunk.

- The vehicle is damaged. What should I do?
If you have chosen a vehicle from the map and find that it is damaged, please send immediately a report via the app and choose another vehicle immediately.

Of course! If you want to use your personal helmet, please ensure that it is approved for the vehicle.
- What can I transport in the Piky Cargo?
The Piky Cargo is designed for loading small parcels, maxi shopping bags, trolleys or travel bags, briefcases with work tools or small and medium-sized equipment. It is the perfect means of transport for all professionals who frequently move around the city and need to transport their work equipment. But they are also very convenient for those making home deliveries on behalf of shops, supermarkets or restaurants.
The loading area holds up to 140 kg.
The horizontal shelf that serves as a cover has a shaped area to hold documents such as a delivery note, order book or tablet. It can support a weight of 40 kg. There is also a separate, closed storage compartment to hold items for safekeeping, such as smartphones or sunglasses, which opens with a button.
It is not possible to carry passengers: the Piky Cargo is only homologated for one person, namely the driver.
- How much room is there in a Piky Cargo?
In the area to the right of the driver, the Piky Cargo offers a storage space of 260 litres, which is achieved precisely by replacing the passenger seat with a modular, protected container consisting of 7 dividers.
The lower shelf of the container is adjustable in 2 levels. It can be raised and locked vertically or lowered to a horizontal position, at the same level as the vehicle floor. The latter position allows a useful storage length of more than 1.20 m.
- Does the storage space guarantee safety while driving?
Yes. There is a vertical partition inside the Piky Cargo that separates the driving area from the loading area, and it is positioned in such a way that it offers sufficient space and guarantees the protection of the driver from the load, while ensuring the best possible driving comfort. There are hooks for the passage of straps to secure more fragile objects. The height of the partition has been calibrated to remain below the body’s beltline and thus maintain all-round visibility to ensure safety.
- How do I start the classic car rental?
Open the map on the Pikyrent app, search for our vehicles, reach the nearest one and, when you are within 1 m, press the start rental button.
If you are already near a Pikyrent car, you can scan the QR Code directly.
If the app shows that the vehicle ‘is not available for rental, then it may be unloaded, or in need of maintenance, or may have already been booked by another user. Search for another one and repeat the procedure.
If the vehicle is available, follow these steps after starting the rental:
- Close the doors
- While holding down the brake pedal, use the gear shift knob and set to N
- While holding down the brake pedal, turn the key switch to start the engine
- A flashing green OK appears on the display. Wait for the light to turn steady
- While holding down the brake pedal, use the gear shift knob and set to D
- Start the ride
- At the end of the ride, after parking, set the gear to N
- Close the windows (this cannot be done when the rental is ended)
- Exit the car, close the doors and end the rental from the app
TIPS
- I have a voucher. How do I use it?
Enter the voucher code in the app from the menu Subscriptions and Promotions -> Promotions -> Insert Voucher.
The voucher will automatically be used as payment method for the rental. You can use it for a single rental or reuse it for multiple rentals if you still have some minutes left. Remember to always have credit in your wallet for unlocking or booking the vehicle. - Where can I park?
The map, which can be viewed on the app, shows a blue area representing the area where the service is operational (Operational Area). You can park within this area.
Parking is allowed only within the Operating Area (blue).
Within the Operating Zone, you can park for free:
- in all areas where free parking is allowed
- in parking spaces marked out by white stripes
- in parking spaces marked out by blue stripes
Be careful never to park your vehicle:
- outside the operational area
- at dangerous or obstructive points for road traffic (e.g. intersections, near traffic lights, in a double row, etc.)
- in no parking areas
- in private condominium areas
- in garages, private car parks
- in disabled parking spaces
- near the ramps for the disabled
- with 1, 2, 3 or all wheels on the pavement
- on pedestrian crossings
- on cycle paths
- in front of hospitals or clinics
- in front of barracks
- in private areas
- in areas where GPS signal cannot be detected
- wherever parking is prohibited by the Highway Code and/or Municipal Regulations
- What does the coloured area I see on the map mean?
The blue zone is the zone in which the service is operational, i.e. the zone within which you can drive and park your vehicle (Operating Area). The area outside the operational area is not covered by the service. Here it will be possible to drive the vehicle but it will not be possible to stop or complete the rental.
The red zone is the zone excluded from service operation. In this zone it is not possible to park the vehicle or end the rental.
The orange zone corresponds to a zone in which it is temporarily not possible to park the vehicle or terminate the rental for reasons of public order.
- Is it possible to make stops during the rental?
During the rental it is possible to make stops, provided that the vehicle is always parked appropriately, according to the rules indicated. Each stop can have a maximum duration of 30 minutes during which you will be charged a reduced rate. After this maximum time of 30 minutes, the rental will continue at a standard rate.
- Can I drive the vehicles on all types of roads?
L6 category Pikyrent vehicles (AMI Microcar, AMI Cargo Microcar and SuperSoco Moped) cannot drive on beltways, motorways, highways and generally on roads on which an engine size restriction is expressed. L7 category vehicles (ZD Microcars) may travel on beltways and motorways but not on highways. M1 category vehicles (such as the Dacia Spring) can travel on all roads.
- How can you recognise a Piky Cargo?
If you are out and about and spot a Piky car, you can recognise if it is a Cargo by its livery, which has a cardboard box and the “Cargo” sign. On the map in the Pikyrent app, you can filter your search using the button with the car icon and when you start the rental, you can see a preview of the Cargo model. Piky Cargo cars can also be recognised by their identification number: 033, 034, 035, 037, 038.
- How can you recognise a ZD Pikycar?
If you are out and about and see a Pikycar, you can recognise the ZD model by its livery. Its basic colour is black. On the map in the Pikyrent app, you can filter your search using the button with the car icon, and when you are about to start your rental, you will see a preview of the ZD model. ZD Pikycar can also be recognised by their 3- digit identification number, which begins with the digit ‘3’.
- How old do I have to be to drive a Piky car or a Piky scooter?
To drive a Pikyrent vehicle you must be at least 18 years of age as indicated in the Regulations, which must be read and signed at the time of registration.
- What kind of licence do I need to rent and drive a Piky car?
For the vehicles belonging to L6 and L7 groups, as they are light quadricycle, it is sufficient to have an AM or higher licence (A1-A2-B etc.).
For standard cars, you must have had your B licence for at least one (1) year.
- What kind of licence do I need to rent and drive a Piky scooter?
As it is a category L1e scooter, it is sufficient to have an AM or higher licence.
- Can I drive with a foreign driver's licence?
Yes, you can drive a Piky car or a Piky Scooter with an international driving licence, with any driving licence of a state belonging to the European Union and with the sworn translation of the driving licence of a non-European state. - What happens if I get involved in an accident?
If you are involved in an accident, you must inform Pikyrent Customer Service immediately, describing the details of the accident, the damage to the vehicle and providing the exact address of where it is located.
You are required to remain at the scene of the accident until the arrival of the Pikyrent operator, unless you need medical care, in which case call for help immediately.
In the event that you are involved in an accident with unidentified vehicles, you are protected by insurance coverage, but you will be charged an excess.
Remember to report the incident to the competent authority, fill in the CID form where possible and send Pikyrent all the documentation of the accident by sending the original copy to the administrative office (Pikyrent srl – Strada Vassallo n. 1, 70124 – Bari).
- Which are the features of the ZD Pikycar (L7 heavy quadricycle)?
The ZD Pikycar, unlike AMI Pikycars, is a heavy quadricycle, i.e. category L7 and can therefore travel on beltways and motorways, but not on highways. It has a rear luggage rack with more space for carrying objects and luggage, which can be opened from the inside with a lever. ZD Pikycars are equipped with car horns, directional arrows, hazard lights, electric windows and rear parking sensors.
